August 2020, Gwynn, VA, USA
What led you to where you are today?
Growing up in the seafood industry, I've seen a lot of unacceptable practices go on around me. These practices not only devastate our oceans and ecosystems but in some circumstances put very little value on human life. Since uncovering these things, I have always known I was going to be a part of the disruption the industry needed to spur meaningful change.
What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?
That failures are lessons and if you are able to perceive them in that way in the moment, your goals become that much closer. Also, that it's okay not to know all the answers even when you think you should- vulnerability can be powerful so it's better to just embrace it.
What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?
When to take investment and how much. I come from a family owned company that always bootstrapped. We know our current opportunity is on a global scale and needs fuel to grow so we have had to learn (and FAST!) so much about the fundraising world.
What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?
Those who are on the fundraising path and are confused or overwhelmed- please reach out! I wish I had asked for help in the beginning.

Fun fact about you:
I have a 1 and 3 year old at home and consider this company my 3rd child. That's about as fun as it gets for me these days!
