Mind Blown™ by The Plant Based Seafood Co. and Coral Restoration Foundation™ Announce Partnership
One percent of Mind Blown profits will go to CRF to support its mission of restoring and conserving coral reefs around the world
GWYNN’S ISLAND, VA. (February 22, 2023) – Mind Blown™ by The Plant Based Seafood Co. (“Mind Blown”) and the world’s largest reef restoration organization, Coral Restoration Foundation™ (CRF™) have announced a multifaceted partnership. Starting on March 1, one-percent of profits from all Mind Blown products will benefit the foundation, supporting the restoration of the ocean’s most vulnerable habitats: coral reefs. The partnership comes just in time for Earth Day on April 22, World Reef Awareness Day on June 1, and World Oceans Day on June 8. The Mind Blown lineup currently includes Dusted Shrimp, Dusted Scallops, Coconut Shrimp and Crab Cakes.
“In just the last 30 years, we’ve lost half of the world’s coral reefs. As overfishing is a significant driver to reef degradation, this was a natural partnership for us,” said Mind Blown Founder Monica Talbert. “Our missions are so well aligned with protecting the ocean and its abundance for generations to come.”
Mind Blown Crab Cakes will be served at CRF’s largest fundraising event of the year, Raise the Reef, held on March 25 at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla. Mind Blown Crab Cakes will be served at CRF’s largest fundraising event of the year, Raise the Reef, held on March 25 at The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla. In coming months, Mind Blown will also be hosting a giveaway that will give fans the opportunity to enter to win a free dive with the CRF Recreational Dive Program. In the program, divers have the unique opportunity to visit a restoration site to see life returning to the reef and help return young corals to the wild with their own hands.
“This relationship is particularly exciting for CRF™ as our missions are so synergistic. It is wonderful to be working with another team as committed as we are at CRF™ to saving life in our oceans,” says Martha Roesler, CRF™ Chief Development Officer.
“One of the most compelling aspects of CRF™ is how they’re democratizing coral reef restoration. They’re supporting reef restoration efforts around the world and are making their innovative technologies available to organizations that would otherwise not be able to access these kinds of cutting edge tools,” said Talbert. “This will really move the needle for reef restoration globally and we’re proud to partner with CRF to help change the fate of our ocean for generations to come!”
